TYLDESLEY RU, playing all but five minutes a man down, gave Wigan much to think about before falling 38-14.
From the first kick, the Well Street side stormed onto the attack, scoring the first try when Brown and Hollingsworth combined to send Swanton racing half the length of the field for the score. It was to be his only touch of the ball as he dislocated his shoulder in touching down.
With the extra numbers Wigan shot clear, but Tyldesley's tackling was superb with the Ashurst brothers and Cunliffe to the fore.
And they scored the try of the match, repeated drives and good ball retention sucking in the home side's cover allowing Edge to race 40 metres and throw an outrageous dummy before sending Brown in for a try.
In the final minutes Tyldesley crumbled and Wigan zipped in for two more tries.
On Saturday (3pm) Upper Eden are at Well Street.
