ST Helens Council's Rangers will be holding a canal history trail on Sunday, September 7.
The canal played a vital part in the industrial development of the town, and this guided two-and-a-half-hour walk along just three miles will provide an enlightened, potted history of St Helens which will keep the most avid local historians entranced.
The event is supported by the Countryside Commission and the Mersey Forest, and anyone who would like to join the walk should meet the Rangers at the Sankey Valley Visitor Centre at 1pm.
