THE popular Heritage Open Days return to St Helens Town Hall on Saturday and Sunday, Sept 13 and 14, with a tour of the building running every hour (last at 3pm) and the chance to meet the mayor, Councillor John Mealor, in his parlour.
Other attractions being run by the council include an exhibition of vintage transport in the town hall car park from 10am to 4pm both days. There will also be an opportunity for the public to ride on a vintage bus.
The St Helens Museum on College Street will also be open during the weekend (from 10am to 4pm) with special workshops for children, linked to the Open Days. Refreshment will be available.
The Eccleston Smithy Heritage Centre will again be open (11am to 4pm both days). On Saturday only, the Theatre Royal on Corporation Street will be offering tours with the opportunity to look behind the scenes (10am to 4pm).
The tours, activities and vintage bus ride are all free and should guarantee a good day out in the town.
