THE Police have signed up to a new deal to promote a more caring approach to witnesses called to courts across Lancashire.
Chief Constable Pauline Clare was on hand to sign the county's first Witness Care Provision agreement.
It's part of a wide-ranging review of administration in the criminal justice system to make it more streamlined, cost effective and accountable.
"Anyone making their first visit to a court can feel very uneasy," said Mrs Clare.
"This new package aims to raise witnesses' profiles by taking steps to make them feel more re-assured."
