TITLE contenders Lowerhouse had a tight game when they entertained Church and had their efforts rewarded with another five points.
They looked to be in danger with only 100 runs on the board but managed to bowl the visitors out for a mere 71. Matt Hope and professional Corrie Jordaan were on good form.
Nelson took on East Lancs in a dull match at Seedhill.
The home side knocked up 140 runs, with Paul Garaghty contributing 49 before being out lbw to Mooney. His performance at the crease outclassed other batsmen on the field.
Colne were away to Todmorden in a cracker of a game.
They won after reaching 174-7 with two balls to spare after the home side made 173-5.
Burnley had a fighting chance of creating an upset for league leaders Haslingden but could not manage to take enough wickets to prevent the Bentgate side's victory with a score of 130-6 against the Burnley total of 126.
