BURNLEY fans look set for a boring season if the last two games are anything to go by.

After playing at total of 450 minutes of football, Burnley have yet to score a single goal, leaving them stuck at the bottom of Division Two.

The Clarets have conceded two goals - and they weren't in front of the Turf Moor faithful.

But manager Chris Waddle is at a loss as to how his team can improve.

Speaking after Tuesday's goal-less draw at home to Oldham, Waddle said: "There was total commitment from the players and the crowd responded to it.

"I'm not disappointed at all because we created enough chances for us to know we can score.

"Some of our passing was good, some was poor but it is getting better. I can't ask anything more of the players."

And Waddle won't be pushed into emergency buying as he vies to get off the bottom spot after saying the coffers are bare.

Waddle has been determined to get his hands on a new striker to solve the goal-draught and improve the current front line, which consists of himself and on-loan striker Andy Kiwoyma.

But, as the manager was quick to stress, with his side looking better as each game progresses, it won't be long before a ball kicked from a Burnley boot finally hits the back of the net.

Waddle added: "It's a long season so it is pointless to get too worried about it at this point. Patience is the key word."

The Clarets boys travel to Chesterfield on Sunday in the knowledge that Andy Cooke should be fully fit, as should Paul Barnes.
