A DIRECTORY of Lancashire companies involved in the motor car industry is being compiled on behalf of the Motor Industry Local Network.
The directory commissioned by MILAN is being put together by Enterprise PLC .
The aim is to search for new business opportunities and the project has been funded by Lancashire County Council and the European Konver project.
County councillor Terry Burns is vice chairman of planning, industrial development and tourism as well as chairman of a MILAN working party.
He said: "MILAN was established in 1985 and a vast amount of useful and essential work has since been achieved.
"We are now looking into the next century and the leaner, more focused objectives we have set ourselves will ensure that the energy and hard work which is the backbone of this organisation will be put to the best possible use."
He added: "We have all seen the major changes which have affected the automotive industry over the last decade.
"I am sure that people both within the industry and in areas affected by it will welcome the new push we are giving to ensure jobs and skill bases have a secure future."
