ALONG with the rest of the country, I have been in a state of shock following the death of Princess Diana.

Now I am recovering and as I do I think of lots of people who have suffered similar loss.

I think especially of three little boys in Ribchester who lost both mother and father in a car crash a few weeks ago.

They were younger than William and Harry and will, no doubt, be traumatised for some time to come.

I pray to God they are surrounded by a loving family and I think that may be the case.

So let's not get too carried away. William and Harry will have been as close to their Nanny as to Diana.

Let's remember the tragedies nearer home and help them if we can.

MARGARET CHEW (Mrs), Beaconsfield Street, Haslingden.
