CALLING all 1958 year pupils from Darwen Grammar School.

Christine Cooper, nee Duxbury, is organising a reunion for former pupils who will be leading up to or will have reached their 50th birthday.

Mother-of-two Christine, of Inverness Road, Darwen, said: "Reaching 50 years is a milestone really and it is a time of nostalgia. A time to look back. It would be great to meet up with everyone and catch up on old times."

The initial idea for the reunion came from Rachel Cobb, nee Hollingbrake, who now lives in Witham, Essex, with her husband David and their three children.

Christine, who is married to Allan and runs her own business Darwen TV Services, Railway Road, Darwen, said: "There are about 120 people altogether who entered Darwen Grammar School in 1958.

"Some left in 1963 after their O levels and some stayed on to 1965 to take their A levels.

"I would love to hear from past pupils or anyone who know where we can contact past pupils.

"So many people don't live locally any more. We need the help of everyone to trace these pupils."

Former school teachers will also be attending the reunion which will also include a buffet and disco at Whitehall Hotel, Darwen, on Saturday, November 1, at 8pm.

Tickets for the event are £10 and need to be reserved in advance.

"To book tickets or for further information contact Christine during the day on 01254 772266.
