I READ with disgust of the £114.7m debt by Blackburn with Darwen Council.
Why were steps not taken years ago to control or reduce this debt by the ruling council? Why was this not "major issue" at the time of this year's General Election?
This debt was clearly concealed by the ruling Labour group. If this was private industry heads would roll or banks would foreclose on the company.
What do I hear since the last election, increased attendance allowance, free parking, increased meal allowance, free phone or mobile, free lap tops.
Why do I not hear no allowances until the debt is cleared? What is going on? This ruling Labour council was not put in power to squander our money.
