A BLACKBURN primary school was to be evacuated for eight months because of an asbestos alert.
Major building repairs were needed at St Silas's CE Primary School because of dry rot.
But an inspection revealed asbestos in ceilings and wall panels which had to be removed.
The evacuation was necessary because of the nature and scope of the work to be carried out.
