BEANS were in short supply when a camera crew descended on a Blackburn allotment to film a the third series of Hetty Wainthrop investigates.
The BBC crew were filming at Ewood allotments near the Fernhurst pub when the director realised the runner beans were not in the right position for filming.
Members of Ewood Allotment Association stepped in to sort out the problem. "We had to dig out 14 ten-feet tall runner beans from the back of the plot and put them in front," said secretary Roland White. You don't realise how much work goes into filming!"
The Hetty Wainthrop crew has filmed at the allotments three times this year in readiness for the new run of the Lancashire-based, off-beat detective series, due to be shown in November.
