THERE will be a new name on the Vimto Trophy when Edgworth meet Elton in the final.
Neither side has reached the final before.
And ground advantage in the final on Saturday week could edge Edgworth closer to the double - with the title perhaps decided when they meet Golborne, the team they beat in Sunday's semi.
Edgworth had the edge for much of that game. Tight bowling, particularly from Danny Beswick, saw the home side slump to 59-8.
Then an unbeaten 40 from John Waterworth and stubborn resistance from Chris Benbow eventually saw Golborne muster 119-9.
Edgworth lost the wicket of Mike Davies early on but Howard Brooks managed to keep them in touch with 43.
They then offered Golborne a glimmer of hope when they slipped to 67-5, but Chris Locke quickly restored their advantage with a quick 23, David Charlson playing the anchor role to finish on 32 not out.
Only 11 runs separated Elton and Darcy Lever in the other semi-final but Elton came out on top after their bowlers tied down the free scoring Darcy batsmen.
