MOTORISTS are warned that roadworks, starting on Sunday, September 14, on the A570 Rainford By-Pass and the A580 East Lancashire Road, could lead to delays.
The council will be carrying out re-surfacing work, lasting five days, on behalf of the Highways Agency. The works will involve the closure of the A570 and A580 with clearly-signposted diversions in place.
The timetable is as follows: September 14: A570 (north-bound) closed from Longwood Close to Mill Lane, from 7am to 7pm; September 15: A580 (east-bound) closed from Green Leach Lane to Carr Mill Road from 7pm to 7am; September 16: A580 (east-bound) closed from Moss Bank Road to Green Leach Lane, from 7pm to 7am; September 17: A580 (east-bound) closed from Carr Mill Road to Liverpool Road, from 7pm to 7am; September 18: A580 (west-bound) closed from the M6 to Kenyons Lane, from 7pm to 7am.
