A BURY woman wants to find the owner of an expensive gold necklace she found in the town centre.
And Mrs Caroline Fletcher feels the jewellery could have a distinct ethnic connection.
Mrs Fletcher, of Chapel Close, Unsworth, found the starbust-style necklace outside The Met theatre in Market Street, Bury., on Monday (Sept 1).
"At first, I thought it was a child's trinket. But I discovered it was a beautiful necklace with several intricate pieces," she said.
"I'm quite sure whoever has lost it will be quite upset. It's just so beautiful. But no way can I keep it or wear it."
The chain itself is 22 carat gold and the pendant is 17 carat gold and encrusted with four little jewels.
Now, Mrs Fletcher is anxious to return the necklace to its owner. However, anyone wishing to claim it will have to give other important details about the necklace before it is handed over. Mrs Fletcher can be contacted on 796 2520.
