SILK Cut Cup winners Saints take the first step on what they hope will be another double silverware season when they face Salford in a Premiership quarter-final tie at Knowsley Road tomorrow, Friday, kick-off 7.30pm.

With Super League honours even between the sides this term another nailbiting confrontation is in prospect and, with this in mind, Saints will be hoping that Alan Hunte (knee), Steve Prescott (groin), Vila Matautia (shoulder) and Joey Hayes (hamstring) will pass late fitness tests.

On a more positive note flying winger Anthony Sullivan - league leading try-scorer with 27 - and 15-try utility back Danny Arnold are expected to maintain their records of having played in all 33 games this season.

Salford are expected to field the team which hammered Paris St. Germain 48-6 in the qualifying round of the Premiership at The Willows last Sunday ie: Broadbent; Sini, Naylor, McAvoy, Rogers; Blakeley, Lee; Platt, Edwards, Savelio, Forber, Catwright, Faimalo. Substitutes: Martin, Hulme, Burgess, Southern.

The referee is Stuart Cummings, the complete match will be screened on the Sky channel, admission is on an all-to-pay basis with stand tickets on sale at Knowsley Road price £13.

As a curtain-raiser the Academy team will entertain Wigan in a third round Challenge Cup tie, kick-off 5.30pm.

Answer to correspondent Arnold Jones, of Rainford: Welsh international full-back Glyn Moses made 258 appearances and scored 44 tries for Saints after signing from Salford in 1952, and made his debut at Leigh on Christmas Day. He won Lancashire Cup and League Championship medals (1953), and was a member of the Saints' side which won the Challenge Cup for the first time in 1956. Moses was included in the Great Britain World Cup party in Australia in 1957 and the tour squad to the Antipodes the following year.
