YOUNG actress Andrea Keenan won a role in a TV comedy after impressing producers with her Burnley accent!
But when Andrea, 15, went for an audition for another show, Heartbeat, set in North Yorkshire, she was told her pronunciation was too broad!
The Habergham High School girl plays a starring role in ITV's Knight School on Tuesday (September 16).
As a medieval peasant girl who works as a cleaner in an academy for knightly pursuits, Andrea's character has to speak common.
Mum Francine said: "Her accent was just right for the part. She plays a village girl who gets a scholarship to the Knight School.
"But it was different with Heartbeat. They needed people with Yorkshire accents - but they said Andrea's was too broad. Now she's working on different accents."
Francine and the rest of Andrea's family - dad Steve, sister Nicole and brother Anthony - set the video when Knight School goes out, and watch the show avidly.
Andrea has always liked singing and acting and is a member of the school choir. But when she played the cat in Burnley Pantomime Society's Dick Whittington last year she decided to start taking her acting more seriously.
