CLEVELEYS lottery millionaire Karl Crompton looks set to build his dream home in a Fylde village.
The young bachelor who won £11million last year has applied for planning permission on the site of a former probation hostel in Elswick.
Hoole House closed 12 months ago after a long-running campaign by villagers, and Mr Crompton is believed to have bought the site in the past few months.
The wealthy motorbike fanatic wants to demolish the dilapidated hostel, build his own mansion and convert one of the old buildings into a gym, with four detached houses in the grounds as well as an ornamental lake. Fylde Council leader and Elswick councillor Paul Hayhurst said: "I'd have thought most villagers would have no objections.
"To have got rid of the bail hostel and get a multi-millionaire who'll look after the site, I think most people will welcome that.
"What we want is for the site to be used and not fall into dereliction as it previously did."
Before being a hostel it had been an isolation hospital and had then lain empty for ten years, getting more and more dilapidated.
Since the hostel closed, said Coun Hayhurst, crime in the village had dropped almost to nil.
The application is likely to come before Fylde planning committee on October 8.
