Controversial plans to open a hot food takeaway in a residential Lancaster street look likely to get the go-ahead. City council planners have twice thrown out the application to turn a butchers shop in Prospect Street into a takeaway.
But despite residents protesting with a 200-name petition, officers have recommended approval at planning committee next week, claiming that the council has no case should it go to appeal.
