I AM writing concerning the fences around Witton Park school and Ned Hole Woods in Blackburn.
When I was younger, the Feildens owned Witton Park and members of the public could not enter the grounds until it was bought for the people of Blackburn.
For more than 30 years I have taken my children, grandchildren and dogs into Witton Park and the woods, but now two fences have been erected and, once again, access has been denied to the public.
The school governors said it was for security for the school and they were concerned because of dog dirt.
If this is the case, then why was a school built in the grounds of a public park in the first place?
