BURNLEY top the Division Two average attendance charts.

The Clarets boast an average of 10,962 from their first three League fixtures against Gillingham, Bristol Rovers and Oldham.

Lancashire rivals Preston North End, due at Turf Moor a week today, are just behind on 10,672.

Watford (10,640), Bristol City (9,530) and Fulham (8,466) are all in the top five.

Today's opposition York City are currently the poorest supported club in Division Two with an average of 3,148.

The Burnley following at Chesterfield last Sunday was 1,503.

Burnley's Christmas derby fixture against Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park on Sunday, December 28 has a 1pm kick-off.

The Clarets fixture against Bristol Rovers at the Memorial Ground on January 17, 1998 is now a 3pm kick-off.

The fixture was originally scheduled for noon due to rugby union commitments at the stadium.

No tickets are required in advance for the Coca-Cola Cup second round, second leg tie against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium on Wednesday, September 24 (7.45pm). Stoke have allocated Burnley 5,000 places in the South Stand. £14 (Adults) and £8 (concessions). All pay on the turnstiles.

Because of the cup tie at Stoke, the reserve fixture against Wrexham at Turf Moor will take place the following day (7.15pm).

Burnley are on the road again the following week when the second string take on Sheffield United Reserves at Bramall Lane on September 30.

Burnley's Pontin's League home fixture against York, switched to Bootham Crescent on Wednesday because of major electrical work at Turf Moor, will be played at Turf Moor on January 21.

Burnley's board of directors are holding a special dinner at Turf Moor later this year

The evening will be open to all members of Burnley Football Supporters' Clubs and it is intended that all the directors, management and players will be in attendance.

The dinner will be held in the North Stand Executive Suite on Monday, November 10 and the cost will be £20 per head.
