DISABLED pensioner Anne Rivers will be going wild in the aisles at Burnley's Asda store to raise money for charity.

Mrs Rivers has a shopping list of goodies which she has to collect in her motorised scooter.

The Mayor of Burnley, Coun Enid Tate, will start Mrs Rivers at 4pm on Thursday. A bell has been fitted to the scooter to warn other shoppers she is on her way.

Sponsor forms are available in Yorkshire Bank, Temple Street Day Centre, St Nicholas health centre and Help the Aged's shop.

People are asked to forecast how long it will take Mrs Rivers, 77, of Lower Tentre, Burnley, to complete the task and Asda will give a prize to the nearest guesser.

She said: "I have been backed by Rosehill Baptist Church luncheon club and am looking forward to the challenge.

"I am disabled but this is one way I can raise money for charity."

The money raised through sponsorship and collecting in a basket will benefit Help the Aged and Cancer Research.

Mrs Rivers completed a trolley dash at the store last year to raise money for Rosehill Church, Arthritis Research, Multiple Sclerosis and Burnley and Pendle Hospice.
