CONDOLENCE books in memory of Princess Diana signed at Blackburn Cathedral have been taken to London by Home Secretary Jack Straw.
The Blackburn MP took delivery of eight books which will now be sent to Kensington Palace, along with thousands of others from around the country.
More than 6,000 people signed the books during the 10 days they were at the cathedral, with touching messages such as "A true princess on earth, a true angel in heaven" and "Diana, a real superwoman of our time".
Mr Straw, who was presented with the books by the Provost of Blackburn, the Very Rev David Frayne and Blackburn with Darwen Mayor, Councillor Peter Greenwood, said: "It's amazing how she touched so many people in so many different communities."
