PULSE - music and more, with Simon Donohue

LIVERPOOL'S top band have given a cast-iron assurance that their imminent gig at King George's Hall, Blackburn, will be a night to remember.

Cast will travel to East Lancashire as part of their Autumn tour to play songs from the massive selling second album, Mother Nature Calls.

Lead singer John Power and his band will appear on November 27.

Details of a support act are yet to be revealed.

Meanwhile, the band are set to release the new single Live The Dream next week. The release will feature three self-produced B-sides, Who, Hold On and Flow.

The single also includes a demo version of On The Run.

The group head off on the 15-date tour on November 23 when they will appear in Folkestone to play tracks from the near platinum-selling album. The tour ends at the Royal Court, Liverpool, on December 16.

Meanwhile, the former La's bass player will be leading the rest of the band on a visit to Japan before the Uk tour.

The band also plan a visit to the United States in the New Year.

Cast have grown in popularity since they burst onto the scene with the singles Fine Time and Alright.

Their debut album All Change was the biggest selling release ever on the Polydor label, beating Jimi Hendrix, The Jam and The Who.

Tickets are on sale now from the King George's Hall box office in Blackburn by ringing 01254 582582. They are priced at £12 or £12.50 for credit card bookings.

Damian's album in shops

AN album by a band featuring Accrington-born musician Damian Joyce should be in the shops today.

Damian, who also lived in Blackburn and worked at Waves in the town before embarking on a solo world tour, is now a member of the three-strong group Denbo's Pipe.

The album No Fixed Abode went on sale in the Accrington branch of Our Price yesterday and was due to be on the shelves at the Blackburn store today.

Damian, 29, who left East Lancashire 11 years ago, said: "I wanted people in the area I used to live to be able to buy it."

He described the style of the 13-track self-published album as somewhere between Paul Weller and Crowded House.

A band called Riff-Raff are looking for bass player and drummer to complete their line-up.

Members have experience in previous Accrington groups and influences include American punk.

DJ Adam Korol will make his Dream debut at Blueberries, Nelson, tonight playing pumpin' house alongside Sempie and Pete Daley.
