I AM furious and I feel that I should make policy holders with Prudential throughout the area aware how the Pru are going to pay out compensation ordered by the government to people who were mis-sold pensions over the last decade.

Now, Sir Peter Davies, head of the Pru, is intending to go ahead and pay the £450 million from the policy holders' profit fund when this should be paid by the company shareholders instead.

If he goes ahead, policy holders should withdraw our policies - pensions, house insurance, endowments, everything - as it is their hard-earned money that is being used when this money is for their future.

Policy holders keep this company going, not shareholders.

So sit up and be aware and complain to your Prudential agent or inspector or direct to your local Pru office that you will not stand for it.

Other insurance companies, ordered to do the same, will also follow the Pru and pay compensation from our money in the same way if we don't act now.

JIM YATES, Darwen.
