STAFF at Blackburn's compact disc factory have been working flat out over the weekend to try and keep up with demand for "Candle in the Wind", Elton John's tribute song to Diana, Princess of Wales.
The Polygram factory is producing around 150,000 copies of the CD single a day in round the clock shifts.
"We're working flat out at the moment. We can't physically produce any more than we are doing," said Bill Beddows, managing director of the plant which employs more than 330 people at its site on Phillips Road.
Employees at the neighbouring St Ives factory are also producing the insert covers for the CD which went on sale amid lengthy queues at record shops on Saturday.
Experts predict the single, which has already sold 600,000 copies, will become the biggest selling single of all time.
