VILLAGERS lost their fight to prevent a big housing development springing up near their homes.
But there were promised that no houses would be built until problems with access roads and sewers were sorted out.
Hyndburn Council agreed to dispose of nine acres of council-owned land at Spout House Farm, Huncoat, which Rawlings Homes wanted to develop, along with adjoining private land.
