DONNA Potts was breaking new ground for women in the ambulance service - she had just qualified as East Lancashire's first female paramedic.
The ambulancewoman from Nelson station joined the ever-increasing number of staff who underwent extra training and study to equip themselves with some of the world's most advanced lifesaving skills.
Donna, 26, of Burnley, said: "I did it for the benefit of the patients."
