FIRMS are being offered the chance to get a flying start in the export market.
Through the East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce they can 'hire' an experienced export manager one day a week for 12 months at half the normal cost.
The expert will set up an export department within the firm, carry out on site training for employees and identify potential markets overseas.
"It can take two or three years for a company to find, recruit and the train an individual to act for their company," explained Ed Murphy, the Chamber's International Trade and Training Director.
"Using the 'Hire an Export Manager' Scheme, which the Chamber and the European Union are part-funding, companies can avoid excessive outlay and have an export manager immediately available."
Further details on the scheme are available from the BusinessLink East Lancashire/Chamber of Commerce on 01254 388400.
