EAST Lancashire was singled out to plug into the cable TV revolution which was expected to sweep Britain over the next decade.
The area was one of only two new franchises being put up for grabs by the Cable Authority, the body set up by the Government to oversee the introduction of cable TV.
Experts said the cabling of East Lancashire could create hundreds of jobs.
