I HAVE been a reader of your paper for more than 50 years and after your photographs and coverage of the Late Diana's death, which were excellent, I am both amazed and very hurt that you feel fit to publish as front page news, her last dying words (LET, September 10) causing further grief to an already grieving Lancashire people.
I am sure most will join with me in condemning this type of lurid journalism. I thought that kind of reporting belonged to a certain type of daily tabloid, intent on squeezing the last penny out of a grieving public.
I sincerely hope this will not happen to the Evening Telegraph which most Lancashire people regard as the best evening publication. This tragic young lady has been laid to rest. In God's name let her rest in peace at last.
MRS SPENCER, Hector Road, Darwen.
FOOTNOTE: I believed this was an important story because it showed Diana was allegedly being harassed by the Paparazzi even as she lay dying - Editor.
