THE daughter of St Theodore head Chris Meehan was top student at the Burnley high school's sixth form certificates evening.
Angela Meehan, 18, achieved grade A passes in A-level exams in maths, physics, chemistry and general studies.
She is now going on to study medicine at the University of Leicester.
Paul Nuzzo achieved two A and two B passes and is going on to study computer science at York University.
Best GCSE results were achieved by Mark Hodson, Daniel Nearney and Michael Heinecke.
They were among the students congratulated by Mr Meehan on their successes. He said the A to C pass rate was the highest since 1973. The average points score per student was also up at 17.5, one of the highest in East Lancashire, and there was a 100 per cent in 11 A-level subjects.
Certificates were presented by Peter Donnelly, head of Fisher More RC High School, Colne.
Angela and Paul were among eight students, forecast to be professional managers of the future, to receive venture award bursaries.
The others were Rachel Ainscow, Paul Crorken, Phillipa Gill, Robert Goulding, Gareth Greenwood and Rachael Livesey.
The awards are made to sixth form students who have completed the ELTEC supported venture scheme.
Selected students receive extended work experience with local businesses, industries, legal and medical professions.
