A 32-YEAR-OLD man was attacked with an iron bar after armed raiders burst into his home in Clayton Brook last night.
Police are hunting three robbers who also ripped jewellery from the man's hands and neck.
The attack, which happened at a house in Three Nooks, was witnessed by the victim's 27-year-old partner and his three children.
Police said the raiders called at the house at 8.30pm and said to the victim, an unemployed taxi driver, "We hear you buy gold".
He was then struck on the back and face with an iron bar. Police believe a gun may also have been produced. The raiders escaped with £1,000 worth of jewellery and £500 of electrical equipment.
One robber was described as Afro Caribbean, aged 35 to 40, 5ft 11in and wore a woolly Rastafarian hat.
The other two were both white and aged between 28 and 32. One was 6ft and wore a red and blue padded jacket, while the other was 5ft 4in and had tattoos on his right hand.
