A HEALTH and safety campaign has recruited an electrical firm as part of a blitz on small firms.
Lomeshaye Electrical Distributors, of Nelson, will feature in a series of BBC programmes aimed at reducing accident rates at work.
The firm is one of several in the North West which will be showing how they handle health and safety issues, including noise, electricity and heavy load-handling.
The Health and Safety Commission is backing the programmes, which will be shown as part of the BBC Learning Zone series between October and December.
"We know that small firms can find health and safety issues hard to understand - these programmes make it clear that it is not as difficult as they think," said Frank Davies, chairman of the HSC.
"They show how real firms have dealt successfully and sensibly with health and safety issues."
