GOVERNMENT health chiefs, faced with an outbreak of a rare form of meningitis, issued warnings to Muslim pilgrims recently returned from Mecca.
Four people had died from the disease and 19 others were receiving specialist treatment at hospitals throughout the country.
Ten people were thought to have brought the virus back to Britain after catching it among praying crowds.
