A MUGGER forced a 75-year-old woman to the floor when she tried to stop him stealing her shopping bag.
The woman, from Great Harwood, was waiting to catch a bus at a stop in Blackburn Road, near Ellison Street, Accrington, at 9.10pm yesterday.
The mugger tried to rip the bag from her hands, but she tried to stop him.
She was then forced to the ground, twisting her ankle as she fell.
The bag contained a tan-coloured purse, a TSB card, a bingo card and £6 in cash.
After the mugger fled the woman caught a bus to Great Harwood and told the police about the attack.
She did not need hospital treatment, but was left badly shaken.
Witnesses saw three teenage boys behind the bus stop shortly before the attack.
Two were white and aged between 16 and 17. One was 5ft 8in with dark hair and wearing navy coloured clothing.
The third was Asian and aged between 16 and 17.
The woman was unable to give a description of her attacker.
