GENEROUS pub-goers are raising funds for charity after a 25-year-old mum collapsed and died in a Clitheroe town centre pub.
Regulars at the Victoria Hotel, Market Place, are collecting cash in memory of former Ribblesdale High School pupil Jill Procter who collapsed and died while celebrating her husband's birthday.
Regulars rushed to help her and she received first aid at the scene but was dead on arrival at Blackburn Royal Infirmary.
An inquest was opened and adjourned and police said they were not treating the death as suspicious.
Landlord Sid Revell said customers were being very generous and that Jill had "been very popular".
"Her family have been to see me and are to let me know which charity they would like the money donating to.
"A collection box on the bar is nearly full already and we intend giving part of our takings from the night that she died.
"People are being very generous and she was obviously very popular."
Jill who was buried on Saturday, leaves a husband, Paul, and 21-month-old son Jason.
