A MEMBER of Bacup Cricket Club died suddenly in Birch Hill Hospital, Littleborough, on his 60th birthday.
Kenneth Jones of New Line, Bacup, had worked as a footwear operative at Sutton's in Bacup for more than 40 years and had been working as usual the day before his death.
He was a familiar figure in the Bacup area, walking his dog, and was a keen supporter of Bacup Cricket Club, rarely missing a match.
Mr Jones leaves his wife Joan, a son and daughter.
Cremation will take place at Burnley at noon on Friday after prayers at the Knight and Boys chapel of rest in Newchurch Road, Stacksteads.
