BLACKPOOL bingo manager Mark Jones likes to share his luck and wherever he goes it seems bingo players benefit.

Mark, 26, is assistant manager at the Mecca, Church Street, Blackpool, and since he started in March the club has had a string of big National Bingo Game winners.

So far the club has paid out more than £140,000, the latest winner being a 70-year-old man who won £4,288.

While Mark was a trainee manager at Mecca's Knotty Ash club, there were four national and seven regional winners, scooping an amazing £389,583 between them - but the man with luck on his side doesn't even play.

Mark said: "When I came to Blackpool, the manager Craig Millar told me that they hadn't had any national wins for a while and on that night we had a big win.

"I don't play bingo, but I do play the lottery and so far my own luck has only run to a few ten pound notes.

"But if I can bring a bit of luck to a few of our players, I'll be pleased with that."

Mark, from Layton, believes fate brought him to the popular game when he was made redundant from his job at ICI.

He then went to Blackpool and the Fylde College to sign up for a business administration course but saw a poster for a course in leisure and tourism and decided to do that instead.

"I really enjoy the job and believe it's something I was meant to do. There's nothing better than telling someone they have won a big win and seeing how happy it makes them.

"If I can help people to win a bit of money, I'll be happy with that."
