STAFF from ICI Acrylics at Darwen handed over nearly £3,000 to the East Lancashire SuperScan Appeal.
The company donated the £2,000 prize money it received when it won joint first place in the 1997 ICI Global Safety Award.
The award, run across the whole of the ICI group, recognises excellence and achievement in all areas of safety, health and the environment.
Site safety, health and environment manager Mike Howard said: "We are extremely proud to have been one of the two joint winners of this prestigious ICI award.
"It reflects the exceptional effort that everyone on the Darwen site has given to improving our performance in all aspects of safety, health and the environment.
"We are very pleased to be able to offer this donation to such a worthy local cause."
A further £841 was donated by workers who took part in the Motorway Superwalk last month - bringing the total donated by ICI Acrylics in the last 18 months to £4,500.
