THE race for the World Superbike Championship hots up this weekend with Carl Fogarty looking to topple arch rival John Kocinski from the top of the table.
The double world champion trails American Kocinski by just two points with only three rounds to go - starting at Spanish circuit Albacete on Sunday.
Foggy has voiced his concerns about his Ducati machine throughout the championship and he'll be hoping his team of mechanics get it right for the vital clash against Kocinski's powerful Honda.
DARWEN demon Darren Barton is just one race away from winning the second British 125cc title of his short career after sealing another win at Brands Hatch on the weekend.
The 22-year-old rider leads the championship by 21 points going into the final round at Donington on September 27 with Fernando Mendes the only man who can catch him. In what should be a thrilling climax, Mendez has to win the final round and Barton score no points if he is to snatch the title from the Darwen rider.
Barton said: "Hopefully that win will give Fernando a few sleepless nights - 21 points is a lot to pull back in one race."
