THE Fylde went back in time on Saturday to take part in the National Heritage open day.
Marsh Mill Village in Thornton and Blackpool Town Hall went back to their roots by showing the public some of the history connected with the buildings.
Old-fashioned crafts was the theme at the mill where visitors saw a clogger, straw worker, a patch worker and a doughcraft expert at work.
Meanwhile, town crier Ken Dagger struggled to hold on to his hat on the steps of a windswept town hall in Blackpool.
He was brought in by Blackpool Civic Trust to attract visitors to their event which proved a real hit.
Honorary secretary Ethel Sanderson said: "We had a good turnout and Blackpool Mayor Fred Jackson spent a lot of time showing them around.
"It went so well he suggested making it an annual event."
