UGB Lions 14 Bamber Bridge 12 AFTER a slow start, UG bounced back to take the spoils in their first game of the season.
Their lacklustre opening cost them dearly as Bamber Bridge opened up a 10-point lead.
However, UG hit back with a fine try by Derek Hall just before half-time.
The Glassmen finally began to get into their stride and a try by Andy Abbott, converted by Canning put them on their way.
Shaun Anders finally put the game beyond the visitors with a 60-metre dash to the line.
The Mel Griffiths man of the match was A. Seabrook, with Birkett Motors the matchball sponsor.
