Portico Panthers 34 Parr Hare & Hounds 28 A LAST-minute try gave Panthers victory in an end-to-end local derby leaving the luckless Hounds to reflect on missed goal kicks and a string of disputed refereeing decisions.
Mike Hobin (2), A. Ranson (2), D. Leyland, and player/coach Dave Lee scored tries for Portico, with Hobin adding five conversions, and C. Peel being voted man-of-the-match and top tackler.
For Hounds, Ian Sherwood (2), Keith Dugdale (2), Mike Bacon and Chris Bennett scored tries, with Dave Meadows and Bacon each adding a goal, and Jason Lawrenson, Mark Houghton and Ste Hill also worthy of mention.
