CITIZEN reporter Chris Kershaw presented super striker Jonathan Macken with the 1997/98 season's first Player of the Month award.
The 19-year-old North End ace scooped the August trophy after being voted by the readers and was awarded it before the Walsall home game on Saturday (Sept 13).
In the first month of the season Macken, signed from Premiership giants Manchester United, played a major role in Preston's four home victories and scored three goals.
