HUNT saboteurs were in action on the moors high above Darwen as part of their campaign against Holcombe Harriers.
Seven members of the North West Campaign Against Bloodsports scented the fields with garlic and lemon and mimicked the voice and trumpet calls of the huntsmen to confuse the hounds.
The hunt took place on Wednesday evening at Anglezarke Moor, near Belmont.
Mark Robert, spokesman for NWCAB, said: "We managed to keep the pack in tight control for two hours.
"The hounds only got on to one scent and we stopped that in under a minute.
"We are targeting Holcombe Harriers at the moment. It is the training season for young hounds so it is even more important than usual that we are out in force causing disruption."
The master of Holcombe Harriers, Mr Arnold Greenhalgh, said: "There were protesters out at the hunt but we encountered no problems or trouble. They are within their rights to protest."
