REGARDING the front page article 'Wind Farm Fear,' (LET, September 17), I think the people who continually winge about wind farms are pathetic.
As a member of Greenpeace and World Wildlife, I suggest these people become members and read about what is happening to our planet.
In the latest Campaign Report from Greenpeace, Thilo Bode, executive-director of Greenpeace International, quoted at the last Earth Summit Two meeting in New York: "Glaciers are melting; forests are retreating. We are changing the seasons, we are running out of fish in the sea. We are poisoning our children and accumulating nuclear waste and as carbon emissions increase, we find ourselves running out of space in the sky to absorb the pollution."
Waken up and think about it - it's frightening.
Yet here we have people trying to block what the scientists recommend. Wind farms and solar power are the way ahead.
