JANET Anderson, Rossendale and Darwen MP, is deserting the Labour Party's victory conference in Brighton the day after Prime Minister Tony Blair's speech for a romantic few days in Paris.
The Government whip is being whisked away by husband Vince to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary.
And despite her joy at Labour's May 1 landslide, she is even more delighted by her 51-year-old corporate lawyer husband's sense of romance.
Mrs Anderson, 47, is looking forward to her leader's address - but even more to celebrating 25 years of marriage that has produced three children.
She said: "I'm absolutely thrilled. I think it's ever so romantic of Vince. It's a wonderful anniversary present. I'm really looking forward to it.
"With the conference after the May 1 election victory and now this trip to Paris, it's turned into the perfect week."
