Mark Templeton Surfs The Net
MUSIC fans should definitely tune into the Internet.
There are thousands of pages on the World Wide Web dedicated to every band you can imagine.
Local bands are also seizing the chance of gaining world-wide recognition by creating their own home pages.
Among them is Burnley-based indie outfit Willard, who have their own site containing gossip and gig details and the chance to download some of their songs.
On a different level, the bad boys of rock, Liam and Noel Gallagher, have something worth shouting about with their web pages.
The official Oasis site is a must for any fans and contains some excellent stuff.
The best feature is being able to download their videos straight to your screen. The site is regularly updated with all the latest news on the band and there's even some items you wouldn't have read about in the tabloids. And there's a wealth of info on their new album, Be Here Now, including some great downloadable cover sleeves.
You can also e-mail questions to Oasis. But try not to Look Back in Anger if the brothers don't reply.

Accy's upper crust
YOU would have to be a sandwich short of a picnic to be obsessed with bread but if you are then pay a visit to the Accrington-based World of Baking.
Brazilian potato bread, Australian beer bread...the list really does go on and on. Retailers also have the opportunity to order their loaves over the net.

Turtle whacks
TURTLE lover Brian Eccles of Accrington has produced a guide to everything you ever wanted to know about, err, turtles!
Brian has put information on the net about the amphibians and even has a Turtle Gallery where you can crawl over to for pictures of the creatures.
And snaps of his own pets, Terry, Topsy and Tuco (named after characters in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, apparently) are there for the world to see. It's not exactly Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles but TurtleWeb is worth a look on a slow day.

Red rose days
IF you're looking for something to do in Lancashire then you don't have to look much further than your computer screen.
Our Internet site has an extensive tourism guide in partnership with local councils.
Pendle Borough Council will be the latest authority to take advantage of advertising its area to the world.
There are hundreds of leisure and tourist attractions listed and all you have to do is click on the Tourism bar at our home page.

There's a little Poppet!
POPPETS, the little sweeties you may remember from your childhood, are back, with a cracking Web site to boot. There's a great build-a-web-site-with-Java feature, which is of little practical use but tremendous fun to play with.

It's in the Net
MATCHFACTS provide all the football info you'll ever need. Loads and loads of statistics, presented colourfully but still easy on the eye.
