ON reading the article 'Traders fume as council orders removal of sign' (LET, September 26), it is clear to me that any business that has just opened has the right to advertise with an A-board.
The council say they want to improve the streets in Blackburn town centre by removing clutter to improve the situation for pedestrians etc.
The controversial gate that has been put in Northgate has not 'improved the situation.'
I don't think they have considered blind people who must use a white stick to feel their way around and possibly, those with guide dogs.
Also, people coming out of clubs and pubs late at night after having had too much to drink and children, running around like they do, could easily run into it.
I say get rid of this controversial gate before someone gets really hurt.
